Founded in 1992, Roger Wilkinson Architectural & Building Services is a family-run practice based between the historic towns of Wimborne Minster and Blandford Forum in Dorset.
With over 75 years of combined experience, we provide a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service across all aspects of architectural design. While we are primarily focused on supporting private domestic clients with projects such as new builds, extensions, and home renovations, our expertise extends to a wide range of architectural work.
Led by Roger and David Wilkinson, we pride ourselves on offering a personal approach, guiding every client through the process with clarity, care, and attention to detail.

Roger Wilkinson
FOUNDER
With a background in building surveying and a career spanning several decades, Roger founded the practice in 1992, bringing a wealth of technical knowledge and practical experience to every project. Early in his career, he studied at Brixton School of Building, Erith College of Technology (ONC & HNC), and the Dorset Institute of Further Education, before gaining professional experience with the Department of Architecture and Civic Design for the GLC, the London Borough of Bexley, Wimborne District Council, and the NHBC. His extensive experience across residential design, historic, and listed buildings ensures clients receive highly informed, tailored advice that balances design vision with practical delivery.
Based in Dorset, Roger works across the county, adjoining counties, and the wider south of England, with previous projects ranging from the Highlands of Scotland to the Brecon Beacons, South Cornwall, and London. His approach is friendly and collaborative, working closely with clients to bring their vision to life while providing practical guidance for contractors. With deep technical expertise and a hands-on understanding of the building process, Roger offers a trusted, reliable presence on every project, helping clients achieve well-crafted, practical solutions.

David Wilkinson

ARCHITECT
With roots in a family business, David began working in architecture during the early 2000s, gaining hands-on experience in the practical side of design and project delivery from a young age. He went on to formalise this foundation by starting a BA (Hons) Architecture degree at the Arts University Bournemouth in 2013 as a mature student, later completing a Master of Architecture (MArch) and a PGCert at the University of Bath. Alongside his studies, David gained valuable experience working for residential practices in both West and North Dorset. Now a fully qualified Architect, he combines professional training with lived experience to deliver a well-rounded approach that balances creativity with technical expertise.
Based in Dorset, David works across the county and the wider south of England, specialising in residential projects while also undertaking work across a range of sectors. His approach is personal and collaborative, placing client needs at the heart of the design process and ensuring their vision is brought to reality. With a detail-focused, professional yet friendly style, he aims to make the design journey both enjoyable and successful, offering clients a trusted partner who can translate ideas into well-crafted, practical solutions.
